Harris Robotis' remix of We Like The Hi-Fi is getting plenty of hype all over the blogs at the moment, which Ministry Of Sound have duly acknowledged, including in the latest episode of their radio show. Good one Harris!The We Like the Hi-Fi single has been getting loads of play, scoring rotation on JOYFM, and on dance music networks around Australia. The video has been screened on RAGE TV three weeks running, and iTunes included it on 10,000 iTunesU promos! Not bad at all for a totally independent band! Thanks to everyone for their support.

It's winter in Melbourne, and we're thrilled... it's the time of the year when we stoke the fire and get into some top gear production. Icy nights of weaving new ideas and creating new chapters in our book of all things Mink. Now that the harddrive has cooled from the completition of our DVD we're planning it's release so you can all get one into your hot little hands! It was a huge success and fantastic to hear some great feedback, and get everyones ideas and opinions. What an epic achievement for us, after 3.5 years of devotion to Acres of Diamonds we are thrilled to have made it to the big screen. Thanks to the continued support of our family and friends! To Infinity and beyond... we've taken a breather and are now devising plans for worldwide release... that's all we can reveal for now, Watch this Space ;)

On Thursday 2 April Melbourne electro wunderkinds Mink Engine launch their much-anticipated DVD Acres of Diamonds with a screening and Q and A event at ACMI.
Mink Engine is the techno-coloured lovechild of Melbourne-based electro pop musician Askii and motion graphics artist Touch Me Tiger. On stage Askii plays keys and sings, while Touch Me Tiger sprays the audience with colour and eye-bending visuals triggered from her keytar. Together they take audiences by surprise and whisk them onboard the Mink Engine joy ride. Those that love to dance can’t help but dance, and those that don’t dance will surely shuffle.
Celebrate the release of Mink Engine’s bedazzling DVD Acres of Diamonds with its premiere screening, followed by Q and A event. Two years in the making and funded by Film Victoria, the DVD involved a creative entourage of 2D and 3D animators,choreographers, dancers, directors, actors, musicians and air guitarists. The final result is an aural and visual feast, featuring
video clips, infomercials and a Mink TV interviews charting Mink Engine’s colourful rise through the international electro scene.

The following week, Mink Engine return to ACMI to perform a special live gig in their signature style which has captivated audiences worldwide. Mink Engine will fuse media art, performance and a key-tar.Known for their aural and visual spectacle, Mink Engine are not to be missed live. Their sets have been described by inthemixas “laptop-electro meets Mac-rock… combining the better elements of Kraftwerk, Chicks on Speed and Queen of Japan…catchy vocal phrases and funky bass lines met with an eclectic pop sensibility.”

February 09 MINK ENGINE IN SHANGHAI... OH THE GLAMOUR
We just got back from Shanghai, where we were invited to play the Glamour Bar's 10th anniversary party. An honour, for sure.Featuring two of our fave things - glamour, and a bar - the Glamour Bar is situated right on the Bund: the posh riverside stretch of Shanghai. It's on the 6th floor, looking out across the river to Pudong, the new, hi-rise area which features two of our new fave things: really tall buildings with Martinis at the top, and buildings skinned with video screens. We're talking 40-stories of photon-firing video action. And did we mention the video ship? No? The ship with 4-storey double-sided video wall mounted on it? We've ordered one.
Our Friday night gig was a full-house, and a very enthusiastic audience - great fun! The anniversary party the following night was rammed - with about 2000 invite-only attendees and a hot-pink theme... perfect Mink Engine conditions. Also performing were the gorgeous Atomic Bombshells, a 7 piece hot to trot burlesque troupe from Seattle. Really cool people, and the perfect example of less equalling much, much, much more!
We nearly froze, we nearly got run over - cos in Shanghai the little green man doesn't really have any authority at all - we got to eat some amazing nosh, got wined and dined and felt very much like superstars. Thank you Shanghai!

We are excited to introduce Heidi Pietzner, who has jumped aboard the Mink Engine to take up role as Manager. We met Heidi in Tokyo many moons ago, instantly forming a bond from our mutual love of music, neon nights and serious fun. Heidi has worked as an international talent scout for music agencies in Tokyo and more recently in music licensing in San Fransico. She is a talented Manageress, Fluent in Japanese, and makes a mean Cuba Libre. She has taken the wheel to release our DVD / Album, Acres of Diamonds and is dedicated to developing the Mink Engine brand through the licensing of M.E Music, Artwork, Animation & Video. Together we are on a mission to Minkify the Universe!

We're trying to hunt down a full length version of the Sex Pixels 8 bit

8th May 08 DANCE DANCE DANCE
A very special preview screening of our new Hand in Glove Video will be happening this saturday 10th May
at The Dancehouse in Carlton. It's airing as part of the Reel Dance Festival for 2008.
The clip was choreographed by the exceptionally talented Nat Cursio, and features the fab moves of 14 dancers,
plus askii + I busting moves!! We went under rigorous training with Nat to learn the moves to perform in the clip (about a month of training). We learnt that perhaps years of disco dancefloor action hadn't really helped us and carving it up in the kitchen on a week night actually impeded our practice routines!!

The dancers were amazing and we have plans to involve them in our live shows in the future.
The clip is a bevie of characters, composting, costuming (created by moi with donations from the shag boys),
and dance dance dance. The clip features some amazing animations by Nice Device & Studio Organic.
It's a great opportunity to see this preview glimpse from our forth coming DVD 'Acres of Diamonds'. We are currently working on the album that accompanies the dvd, and Hand in Glove will be the first single release in conjuction with the album...

Des Peres are considered one of the most exciting bands to have emerged from Melbourne in a long time with an absolutely unique take on music that crunches together elements of soul, funk, dance, jazz and electronica. Also on the night are Sydney’s electro punk thrashers Cherry 2000 featuring pioneering Australian electronic artist Andy Rantzen of Itchy and Scratchy fame, and Melbourne’s own darlings of electro pop Mink Engine fresh from their blow out set at New Years Hot BBQ that left everyone astounded and astonished.
